when the smoking ban came in, suddenly Glasgow was a city of pavement cafes. it can look quite attractive on a dry day but on a wet or cold one, the streets are scattered with grimly determined smokers, standing outside the roughest of joints, fags in hand. the weather was wet and windy today and i like the fact this Byres Road cafe has kept its chairs out on the assumption that the al fresco smokers will still be after a fag.

walking to work after taking the kids to school - it's grey and grim at 8.30 when we leave home but by 9.15, it feels like the day has arrived
