Was It Really So Long Ago

From the Farmers' Almanac

The full moon of each month has traditionally been known by farmers by a different name. The Full Pink Moon rises in April This name came from the herb moss pink, or wild ground phlox, which is one of the earliest widespread flowers of the spring. Other names for this month's celestial body include the Full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon, and among coastal tribes the Full Fish Moon, because this was the time that the shad swam upstream to spawn. Also known as the Hare Moon in Europe, traditionally a good time for fertility.

Once in a while we have a Blue Moon. The next one will appear in November this year, when the year has thirteen full moons. That's probably enough about full moons.

I took this other picture, but preferred the one blipped. I hope you like it.
