At tomorrow's book group we'll be discussing Hidden Lives, a family memoir. I had a dig about to see whether I could find any old family pictures, and these made me smile. The dapper chappie in blazer and flannels is my great-great-uncle Herbert, a bit of a rogue by all accounts. My mum is in the pram and on the beach, and I think the gardener in the cap at the top is my great-grandfather Henry Winchester. Old photographs have such charm, and all my ancestors seemed to dress rather better than the current generation!
