chop wood, carry water...

to celebrate international workers day we will be mostly...chopping wood and carrying water at the allotment.

- then, who knows?... perhaps enlightenment

- and after enlightenment, retirement...?
- well, not really, 'cause credit crunch sh*t happens...

"Before Enlightenment, Chop Wood, Carry Water;
After Enlightenment, Chop Wood, Carry Water."

a Zen saying that touches on the importance of work. it means that when you are fully present, you may find that your labour is no longer a burden. wood is chopped...water is carried...life happens.
so you can make lighter work and improve your chances of achieving enlightenment all at once!?

"Put your heart, mind, intellect and soul even to your smallest acts. This is the secret of success."
Swami Sivananda

"Nothing will work unless you do."
Maya Angelou

"The only thing that overcomes hard luck is hard work."
