The life-size ?Horse Fever? statues dotting Marion County continue to spark curiosity eight years after the public-art project?s inception. Launched by the Marion Cultural Alliance in 2001, ?Horse Fever? included 52 life-sized fiberglass horses decorated by area artists. They were displayed around town for months before they were sold at an auction that raised $1.2 million for charity. Some 20 or so are still grazing around Ocala; this one, named 'Journey' is a mosaic horse currently exhibited outside The Appleton Museum. The first one I blipped is here
