Round Table Talks

Safety is an important item on board, it is incorporated in our way of working. To promote this, we organize every three or four weeks round table safety meetings. The complete crew comes to the bridge and all relevant safety and operational issues will be discussed. It is pretty difficult to create an atmosphere where Eastern cultures feel free to speak up. But with the coming of the second generation Malaysian A/B's and Assistant Engineers, we notice quite some improvement, although were not there yet. The younger generation is the IPod and Big Mac generation, for western people easier to communicate with. Due to visa issues at our location of departure we have a rather small crew on board, only ten men are on board. We will get some more as soon as we get closer to a more harsh environment.
