Sugar Loaf

Today we climbed to 596m to one of the peaks of the Black Mountains. The mountain is so named as its shape is said to resemble that of the sugar loaf, popular until the 19th Century. It was a gentle climb, taking a circular walk from a car park above Abergavenny. Here you can see the triangulation point with Abergavenny behind and the Bristol Channel in the background.
