Off the Summit

Long day today. Early start and off to Loch Tay for Mrs. Tonto, Breagha and myself.

There we met up with Mrs T's fashion guru and her friend Izzy who were spending the weekend in a hotel on the lochside.

Car into Killin at the far end of the loch and we started off up part of the Rob Roy Way to walk up to the reservoir (Lochan Breaclaich) and back. When we got there a quick check of the map showed we weren't too far from the summit of Creag Gharbh (637m/2089ft), which should give us a great view of Loch Tay.

So after a scramble up through the heather we reached the trig point at the top just a hail shower passed over. It was not very pleasant, but the home-made cup-cakes went down a treat. After a few very quick snaps we headed of down off the hill by a quicker but boggier route and out of the fairly stiff breeze.

With the shower passing through things were looking a bit brighter and G and myself got the cameras out to capture the scene.

The long walk back to Killin didn't seem nearly as far as the walk up. Did it girls?

//Edit: if you go large you can just make out Killin in the distance on the far right.
