Dewdrops

The colours of this morning were rather dim.  
No sun, no rain but nearly a frost!
The subdubed colours of the rose leaves, glistened like jewels,
 from the nightly dew.
The sun made an appearance in the late afternoon,
 but by then the air was filled with smoke, from keeping people warm.
