A rat's tail.

Maude was put to sleep today. She was a well loved little beast who will be missed by all.

I'll never forget the day I met this charming creature. Having decided that we'd like to get rats, we started looking around various pet shops and saw several rats, none of which seemed right. On about the sixth day of the search I happened upon a pet shop in Whiteinch. I walked through the door and asked if they had any rats. The response to this was a "yup" and as the guy turned round he plonked a little brown bundle of lovliness on me.

It was love at first sight.

This brown rat and her sister, later to be named Maude and Millie, were the last two rats of the litter, so it was decided. They were to be ours. Millie and Maude were a dream team, mischievous little rascals, but the best pets anyone could have wished for.

Millie is still a rascal but clearly misses her sister. She keeps sniffing round looking for her and it's heartbreaking.
