Panorama near Fouzilhon

The vines are very green now, with lots of new leaves and even flowers just appearing, but the clouds over the mountains in the distance still looked threatening this morning.

In the large version you should be able to see an interesting looking capitelle, or stone shelter, near the white vans (the more modern version of the vineyard shelter). I'll have to try to get down there some time.

We had over twenty-four hours of heavy rain yesterday and temperatures down to 8 degrees - unusual here at this time of year. In the market this morning the charcutier, who comes from Lacaune in the mountains, told us that it had been freezing during the night on the highest mountains. A pilgrim on his way to Santiago de Compostela had found his tent frozen at dawn - it's all part of the hardship of pilgrimage, I suppose.
