tiny triumphs

Walked quickly through Washington Square Park today on my way to the west side where they seem to pay more cash for used dvds. Yes folks, I'm down to selling all of my stuff to pay rent. (At least digital photography is essentially free.) I caught a glimpse of this little boy having fun in the fountain, which is technically not permitted, but everybody does it. What is even grander is that all of the developers' plans to uproot the whole park and close it off to the public have been continually opposed by the people. Maybe the spirit of Jane Jacobs is somehow surviving in the West Village. God, I hope so. The power of the people is moving.
