The Goose and The Gander

Taipei 101

Our first full day in Taipei, we visited the 2nd tallest building in the world, The 101.

The weather was a bit overcast, but good enough to give it a go, so up we went.

It boasts the fastest elevator in the world going from the 5th floor to 89th floor in 37 seconds. Wow.

The views from the top were phenomenal, and we enjoyed a relatively uncrowded time up there.

The rest of the day was spent walking around (ala, this blip being taken) the city. We visited the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and enjoyed the beautiful gardens. We also enjoyed a light vegetarian lunch before venturing out to one of the night markets where street food can be found on every inch of the road.

We have quickly fallen in love with Taipei, Taiwan. It is a modern city with a lot of character, great food, and incredibly friendly people. The city is also very clean and organized, and 100 times less chaotic then Hong Kong.
