today, tommorow, timaru

Yay! Today was a trip to Timaru, 2.5 hours North to visit Reiker Cycles - the last manufacturer of bicycles in New Zealand (as far as we can tell). They are really nice people and have a great little operation. At the moment their main focus is getting out 25 NZ Post bikes a week. Not much in the grand scheme of things but small companies like this are the life blood of New Zealand manufacturing. They can be incredibly flexible and skilled - exactly what we're looking for.

This shot was taken out the car window as we waited for road works.

Oh yeah. After the visit to Timaru, we drove home to Dunedin, then a couple of hours later I jumped in the van with Dr Lizi and we drove to Christchurch... Madness.
