Samuel Cobden Statue

This blip is especially for 'Sungsam'. Petersgate has had a lot of work done lately to improve the pedestrianised area, and this statue has now been moved.

At one time there was a beer bottle placed in it's hand.

There is also a pub named after this guy. There is history with Samuel Cobden, but I don't know much about him.

Any ex-Stopfordians who know anything about him, please let me know. I should be ashamed really after living in Stockport for nearly 27 years not knowing anything about him.
