Catkins

We might have had snow and hail recently. And the temperature has been so cold that the seedlings in the veg garden are reluctant to poke their heads too far above the soil.

But!

There are catkins on the willows and the kye are back in the fields.

The days are stretching and there are fluffy sparrow fledglings on my windowsill.

The skies are brilliant blue, the seas are calm and the sun is on our side.

This time of year always sends this song running round my head.
