Fallen Poplar Leaf

The bright yellow autumn poplars of the past are rarely seen these days, with the spread of a disease that kills the leaves before they turn colour. Just a few leaves at the ends of the branches hold out, but they are badly disfigured, as this one is.

Unlike the other leaves in this series this leaf was not still attached to the tree when I photographed it.

Pin oak
Grape Leaf 1
Grape Leaf 2
Viburnum

Looks good in large.

We had a millimetre of rain that did no more than wet the wilting leaves. I didn't bother to empty the rain gauge. The warm gusty northerly soon dried it out.
