Pileated Woodpecker

These birds can be seen and heard quite easily at this time of year, although not usually in the parking lot of the local supermarket. As they are usually up a tree, and have perfected the art of creeping round the trunk so that they are always on the far side, I find them quite difficult to capture. This one seemed a little confused, (or maybe he had lost his keys). However by the time I left, he had worked his way back to the woods and was tapping away merrily.
