James Watt

I dropped into Glasgow Green briefly on the way home this evening.

I decided to take a picture of James Watt as I have been meaning to do it for some time. I have seen so many pictures of the statue beheaded, I wanted to take the full version with the head restored. Why people would want to behead him is a bit of a mystery.

The location is slightly hidden away which possibly opens it to potential vandalism. However the location is also significant as this is where he conceived some of his brilliant ideas.

Watt is credited with the invention of the 'modern steam engine' and a significant figure in the Industrial Revolution.

In the background is the Templeton Business Centre in the theme of Venice's Doges Palace.
