archimedes screw - park style

We spent the afternoon in the park today.

The kids can spend ages at this area where different hand pumps move water into different containers, then they can open wee gates to allow the water to flow along different channels...into different containers...

Operating the archimedes screw is a particular favourite...watching the water travelling up and then falling into the receptacle below.
