fireworks go boom

And with that, the Edinburgh festival was over for another year. Im kinda glad actually, at least now its going to be a bit quieter. Well, until christmas at least.

The weekend was really busy and so im now back at work on monday feeling as if I need another couple of days off. I went back to my Mum and Dads at on Saturday to give my dad a hand laying laminate flooring in Laura's room. The thing is, she bought nasty cheap stuff from homebase which didnt "clip together" as described in the instructions, and just kept getting chipped at the slightest little bump. We eventually had enough and took the rest of the unopened stuff back, leaving me with the rest to lay on my flats kitchen floor (hey, it will beat the horrible carpet thats there just now!)

Tia skived off work for the day and we went up Calton Hill to check out the Japanese kite flying. You have to admit, when the Japanese do something, they do it in style, some of those kites were huge! A lovely little japanese lady was handing out free paper kites, which we eventually managed to get a good 60 feet up into the air thanks to the high winds. We named it Gaijin Ichi (Foreign Person 1).

And of course some lovely fireworks in the evening :)
