Day 3 - Chicago

We had the morning at leisure in Cleveland so we walked down to the Rock Hall (again) and watched a schools arts festival - lots of stages, bands, singing groups and so on - the sun was shining and there was an excellent atmosphere. A bit like 'Glee' without the dancing...

Checked out of the hotel, headed to the airport, and after a bit of lunch were soon winging our way to the second stop on our USA holiday - Chicago! Never been to the Windy City before, so it was always going to be the perfect add-on to the Cleveland rock n roll visit.

Metro into town, then a brisk (in much chillier temperatures) walk to the hotel which is overlooking the river. Front desk gave us a stellar river view room on the 35th floor, alas it was a smoking room so it had to go - could smell it everywhere. We now have a supposedly more deluxe King overlooking a back yard with a rollaway bed, to be swapped tomorrow for what we had originally booked. Oh well. Still, after a quick shower it was off out - first to the Apple Store to take in the iPad. Wow - it's very impressive. My name is down for one as they've sold out everywhere, and it might come in stock before I leave, but I'm undecided about getting one at this stage anyway. Good to play with though.

Dinner at Pizzeria Due for the famous Chicago deep pan pizza experience - tasty, but oh so filling - had to leave a quarter of my one. Walked it off heading to Navy Pier, before heading back to the hotel to crash out.

Good first impressions - more exploring tomorrow.
