Five-A-Day x Ten

My daughter, like most kids her age, is reluctant to eat vegetables. She'll eat broccoli, but we probably have that about four nights a week. Quite frankly I'm getting tired of it. Sometimes I find that if she helps with food preparation, she's more likely to try something different.

I cut up and assembled a colorful variety of vegetables and recruited her to help with the skewering, brushing with olive oil and seasoning of the veggie kabobs. She had a great time and took her job seriously, talking all the while about how healthy vegetables were and even eating a bit of raw red onion.

She didn't eat a single vegetable for dinner. But the four adults at the table managed to polish off all ten kabobs.
