Emerging Caterpillars

Whilst out with hound junior today, I was trying to capture a shot of bees on the Hawthorn blossom, but without much success.

Instead, I stumbled across this rather beautifully constructed nest of emerging caterpillars; literally hundreds of them. The whole intricate struture was pulsating with them.

And to make matters worse there was a gusty wind sweeping in off the sea, and this branch kept frantcially waving about in the wind.
