Orange

Day 4 of the The Rainbow: orange out of sequence, but the idea only struck me on Monday when a Yellow picture followed a Red one...

Anyway, here are pretty much the newest and oldest (surviving) constructions linked to Glasgow's naval heritage, in the same shot.

The Merchant's Steeple dates from 1665, and was originally part of the Merchant's House - the finial at the top is the Merchant's House symbol - a ship on a globe.

The lifeboat and launch ramp is part of the new Seamanship and Rescue Centre at the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies.
