Deep Forest

It rained today and the forest was sweeter smelling and greener than ever. The birds sang as if celebrating. Many years ago I used to hike and camp in the woods and mountains, winter and summer. Now that I have started up again, all of the smells, sounds, and memories come tumbling back into my mind. I feel peaceful and calm (with some help from endorphins) and relieved of the stresses of the rest of my life. I thank the universe, God, or whoever is responsible, for these special places which help to put us back together again.
