Ruby's travels

By Roobz

So many ancient ruins, so little time!

Today, we came across a Cistern, in town, from 5 BC which was used for centuries to store olive oil. Like most other historical wonders here in Kas, it is integrated into everyday life by being alongside modern houses and restaurants. This cistern is now underneath a restaurant kitchen and 2000 years on, is still fully functioning! The items on the shelf are genuine ancient pottery that has been found in the surrounding area. You can freely pick up and have a look at it all! Quite amazing.
