Heather's First...

...Proms in the Park.

For the last few years Al, Fee and myself have gone to this event in Glasgow Green.

This year Heather and her Mum and Dad came along as well.

It was a super evening, we had our picnic and a little refreshment!!! Mine was Scotland other National drink, as I was driving.

The music was very good, we had a bit of Bernstein, Mozart, Rogers and Hammerstein, Gershwin and lots of other well know pieces of music and song. Julian Lloyd Webber was there and played Variations.

This years event was also a celebration 0f Scotland?s music, so we had a guest appearance of the Peatbog Faeries from Skye.

John Kenny played a most unusual instrument a Carnyx

Then there was the link-up with the Royal Albert Hall for the British Sea Songs, and finishing with Highland Cathedral and the 1812 Overture complete with fireworks.

Heather loved every minute, she danced, sang, clapped her hands, rang her little bells, smiled at everybody, nearly jumped out of her skin when the cannons went off.

Thank you very much BBC, Heather and her family are already looking forward to next year.
