Start as you mean to go on...

And so we did. Go on drinking, that is - oh dear... Me & B got ourselves some babysitters and went to the Taste Festival in Edinburgh for the day with some friends, and I don't think we were even through the gates 2 minutes when we'd already sampled some whisky, some gin, and then got ourselves these wonderful cocktails. Me and friend Mr S (pictured on the right) had something called an 'English Garden' (gin based with apple & elderflower) and B (pictured on the left) had a Kir Royal... Yummy!!

We also had some amazing food - I had two helpings (they weren't big) of some very rare (raw, actually) aged fillet steak which cut like butter... SO good.

And more drink... Had some amazing strawberry cider - looked like Irn Bru, but tasted so refreshing, like squished fresh strawberries in a glass. Wow. Also had some amazing Tasmanian Pinot Noir, and some Sauvignon Blanc from some other country...

After the festival we headed into the centre of Edinburgh to All Bar One for a drink before deciding that it would be a GREAT idea to go to the Balmoral for cocktails - they do a 'taster' menu, where you get 6 different cocktails plus nibbley bits for the bargain price of something like £23.... I don't even really remember what we had... Poor show.
