Not really worth all the effort ... #recipe

I read an exciting recipe in Saturday's Telegraph "Brûléed summer berries with almond and lemon crème anglaise" and thought I'd try it tonight.

It turned out it was not really not worth the effort of making real custard with lemon, soft fruit and meringue browned with a blow torch. Still, I guess you have to try these things! Every element was OK, but definitely not "wow".
