Dyrham Park, Bath

We got up early and drove to Bath -- but stopped on the way for a quick walk round the grounds of Dyrham Park. The house was shut but the grounds were open to the public. Saw a beautiful herd of deer. Snapped away, but results not up to scratch. So when we got back I tweeked this shot of the house. The sky is as it was: a downpour approaching fast so we made a swift exit...

We love visiting National Trust properties. England has some wonderful old houses and stately homes. The aristocracy in the past were so damn rich. Same today I guess.

The wealth of books and paintings in these houses is staggering. Three cheers for the National Trust for preserving our rich heritage. A glimpse into the past.
