Me da

He has lived through the last ten years with Alzheimer's disease. He has a survival mechanism that has brought him through some nightmare situations  such as the death of his wife,  my mother. During that particular time he asked me did we know the person who had died.  It took him over a week to realize what was happening and relived her death five or six times.

Other problems I can't go into here have conspired to make life difficult for him. But at least for today he is in the place he loves most in the world, Dun Laoghaire Pier.  He used to walk the pier every day up until he developed the disease. He will be 87 later in the month, I will blip him then, all going well.
