Perfectly Happy With Silence

"Well-timed silence hath more eloquence than speech." ~Martin Farquhar

Some days have more words than others. Some days I just prefer quiet, but did you ever notice how frantic people get when you do not speak back to them? Instead, you use a series of gestures and facial expressions to convey your response, which is almost always misinterpreted. "Is something wrong with you?" they ask, "why so quiet?"

I have often wondered why silence is associated with anger, sadness, or other "wrong" feelings and rarely with happiness.
