Close-up of a Humming Bird

Today was my last day in San Diego, I fly home tomorrow. I went to a favorite spot to bird and photograph, the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve. It is run jointly by the US Fish and Wildlife Service as a National Wildlife Refuge, the California Department of Parks and Recreation as a State Park and by NOAA as part of the National Estuarine Research Reserve System. It is on the border between Mexico and the US and if you walk the beach to the mouth of the river you are within 50 feet of Mexico.

This Black-chinned Hummingbird sat on the limb about 5 foot away from me and allowed his picture to be taken for posterity
