Labour Day's eve

backblipped on 7th June 2010

Labour Day is THE day for students here in Finland. At least for the university students. It usually means, more or less, the end of a spring semester and 4 months of holiday (read: work as a summer trainee).

You can guess what kind of public hassle there is in the streets!

This year we went for a mid-day walk with the little princess. We headed to the campus area of University of Turku and I saw a few friends there. We did not spend too many minutes there, just enough to say Hi to the friends (of which only few were there during the time).

Heading home, we stopped at the 'Culture Cafe' next to the river. You know, Turku is the European capital of culture in 2011.

The evening of the labour day's eve was rather different to the few previous years. We drank a very little bottle of champagne and ate a bun.

By the way, I'm in the picture. Thus, this pic is taken by my wife.
