Lifeline Service

Shetland is very dependent on the ferry service between Lerwick and Aberdeen and when one of the two ferries is out of service, the Hjaltland is currently quarantined due to a sickness bug, the supermarkets start to suffer from the lack of supplies. Fortunately is such cases the second ferry carries out a shuttle service and here we have the Hrossey arriving from Aberdeen at 7pm - about 12 hours later than we normally get our provisions. It's a quick turn around as it only arrived in Aberdeen at 7 this morning and is heading back tonight at 9pm. It's having to take a slightly wider run into the harbour this time due to the Kirkwall registered fishing boat heading out.
