Sign of the Times

- When your handbag is no longer the size of a small skip
- When you go out for the day without enough changes of clothes to dress a family for a week
- When your jeans aren't constantly covered in various substances that can't easily be identified, but were probably once food
- When you can just get up and go without the wrestling match in the back of the car to do up seat belts
- When you go to get your purse out and don't end up putting blankets, toys, snacks, nappies and wipes on the counter before you realise that you've left it at home in the fridge
- When your timetable is no longer dictated by somebody else and their need to eat or sleep
- When you can buy completely inappropriate and ridiculous shoes because you no longer need to be able to move from standing to a full on sprint faster than a racehorse

then you know that you are no longer the parent of a very small child and that they are growing up in the blink of an eye
