Water's Edge

There are so many pic opps in London it's hard to pick a Blip. But this shot of kids playing on the edge of the Thames - filthy though it is - really tickled me. But it was very hot, over 80F, and I didn't blame them one bit.

With the Gherkin, the Nat West tower and all the other bigwig City buildings in the background, the wooden pier reminding you of the Thames of old, the railway bridge for all the commuting that goes on and the slew of cranes representative of the constant changes being made to the the skyline ... then these kids, oblivious to all of that... I felt this pic reveals the many layers of this vast metropolis quite well.

So that's why I chose it. Large here

Been back-Blipping too...
