With mountains like these

Sorting gambas

After a bit of a ropey start to the day, I had a good laugh with some friends over a coffee and then sorted the boring stuff out in the house. The boys charged home, all incidents from yesterday apparently smoothed over. It was the right thing to do to let things take their natural course.

Agu had an appointment in Palma, so we had a lift to the final football match of the season with a friend. We had to drop off her eldest son in the Port with his Dad, a fisherman on this boat. They'd all come in safely, bringing these fantastic red Gambas de Soller. People were waiting with bags and baskets to take away these heavenly little morsels. There will have been some messy fingers and smiling faces last night, and some smelly bins this morning.

We whizzed off to Llubí, and cheered with good humour (sitting next to the parents of the other side) as the boys came up trumps and won 1 -3. This meant the team have swopped places with Llubí in the league table to a slightly more respectable position. We're all a bit relieved it's over for the moment. There have been a few tears and serious faces. It is meant to be fun, but we all know football is important stuff sometimes.

I made the mistake of mentioning Little Agu's ability to run like Forest Gump to one of the trainers, and he said he should go to the trials on Monday for the younger squad. What have I done? Now my tasty little Soller gambas are up for more sorting.
