Broomhill Festival

We are in day 2 of the annual Broomhill Festival, which is quite an odd mix of events for the local community. It used to be of more interest to us when we had small children, both of whom in the past have enjoyed the five-a-side football tournament in the past (okay enjoying is stretching it a bit for Joe).

Today in the rain we wandered down to Southbourne Road where a number of private gardens were open to the public. Saw some nice and exotic shrubbery and generally mingled with the Broomhill gentry. I was actually marvelling more at the architecture of the houses than the contents of their gardens.

As a bonus we picked up a few pond plants from an ex-colleague's garden to add to our own rather bare looking new pond.
