Tarmachan Ridge

Last day of my sort-of holiday (holiday from one job, but not the rest, so just been doing a bit less work than usual). Today was also an Edinburgh holiday, so was able to go out for a walk in the hills with wood-e and Nevis.

It might have been a dander or a bimble, but weather conditions were not conducive to bimbling or dandering, so it was definitely a walk. A cold northerly wind with occasional rain and hail showers has left my face feeling nicely sandblasted. As wood-e said - "You'll know you've been out".

We went up the Tarmachan ridge above Loch Tay, via a great horse-shoe route from the head of Glen Lyon. The narrow rocky ridge takes in the Meall nan Tarmachan munro, and has a couple of 'interesting' bits i.e. required us to use our hands, and Nevis to use some of his dogagility skills. Quite exciting in the wind.

Nevis had a great day of scampering around with the wind up his tail, and was very restrained about chasing the occasional sheep (although I didn't take any chances and kept him on the lead when I spotted any).
