Playing catch-up

My wife won a pair of tickets to go to the racing at Ascot, so today we both took the day off work and trundledd up there on the train. We'd been there before under similar circumstances about 5 years ago - well before we got married - but it was still impressive seeing some of the most bizarre creations being worn by the ladies -- and it wasn't even ladies day!

This picture was taken shortly after the start of the 5:00 Ascot Stakes (Handicap) 2 mile race. Number 17, Junior, had quickly established a lead he would continue to hold throughout the race, this group had a lot of catching up to do, but even 2 miles was apparently not enough time to do it.

Taken from the Grandstand viewing area, I was glad for the 400 :)
