Should I...O God,
Of spent so much time?
Making pages for a book,
And setting it to rhyme?

Should I...of took those hours,
To lay aside my kin?
To speak of thy holy truths,
And the folly of sin?

Should I...more fully have served,
Thy church's needs?
To have conquered Satan,
In his vicious deeds?

Should I...of laid down my books,
To hear repentance cry?
To cheer them on to paths ahead,
And give them hope to try?

What good are books,
That only weigh you down?
When you could be deserving,
And proudly wear a crown?
