A slice of Lesley's life

Paintbrushes

So last night turned into this morning and this morning turned into a blurry haze of alternately mainlining caffeine and water so this afternoon can actually happen.

And happen it has: bike collected from service at the shop and only slightly shakily ridden home, replacement geraniums for window boxes for ones that died over the winter bought and planted, leaving present for Claire bought, box for leaving present to go in decorated by A (hence the paintbrushes), late birthday present for niece bought, two dishwasher loads put in and out, recycling box a little fuller than yesterday, new plimsolls bought for J who has gone up to grown-up sizes (he will be disproportionately but touchingly chuffed about the achievement of getting bigger feet) and babysitter booked for Monday. Oh, and blip.

It must be time for a lie-down.

This evening we have been invited, along with another family, to our next-door neighbours for the unveiling of their new kitchen extension and to watch The Big Match (as I believe it is known). After Germany & Spain's upsets it might actually be. Not to worry though, I think they have lots of new gadgets in their kitchen to play with if the game is not compelling.

Happy Friday!

ps - thought I should expand a little on the Arts Ed that I wrote about hurriedly yesterday - it is a secondary school and runs degree and postgraduate courses in the performing arts. This is the back of the building which is on our road. The front is prettier. Actually Mr B once asked what the building had been thinking it was abandoned seeing only its back view. Far from abandoned, it is a buzzy hive of activity and always makes me smile as there is nearly always music of some variety coming out of it. It's a bit like having Fame at the end of your road, though I've only seen folks singing and dancing down the street once.
