Tamarillos or Tree Tomatoes

I love these fruit which ripen in winter. Years ago they were always known as tree tomatoes but today they are known as tamarillos.
I remove their skins by putting them in a bowl and pouring over boiling water for a minute or two or three. I then peel off the skins, slice the fruit and sprinkle with a little raw sugar. Yum.
The tamarillo tree is a very attractive tree too and particularly so when the fruit is hanging from the branches before it is picked.
