Kampers

[backblip]

While driving North from Ardmair to Durness via Lochinver we passed about fifteen large camper vans at various points in our 2-hour journey. All bore Dutch registration plates. It seemed more than co-incidental that all of these vehicles were from the Netherlands & it seemed that there was an organised gathering but all were travelling in different directions so it was difficult to tell where they were heading.

After arriving at Durness we put up the tent and got our stuff sorted out (again) and then settled down for the evening. A short while later 15 Dutch kamper vans arrived and arranged themselves like a wild-west wagon train in the grassy centre of the camp-site. 15 Dutch couples then disembarked for a short chat, put up a flag (Nederland Kamper Club) in the centre of their group and then all went back to their own vans. Within a few minutes all had satellite TV dishes erected and weren't seen again until they left early the next morning. Strange......
