Zephir McGurk...

"When you mama was the geek, my dreamlets," Papa would say, "she made the nipping off of noggins such a crystal mystery that the hens themselves yearned toward her, waltzing around her, hypnotized with longing. Spread your lips, sweet Lil," they'd chuck, "and show us your choppers!"

Do your mind ever get dominated by a word? Our car salesman yesterday, had the surname McGurk and the name just won't leave my head. The surname appears in the book that opens with the paragraph above and looking it back up, the character is rather minor but my mind seems to relate it to the book.

There's also a street in near where I live named Norval Place which again reminds me of the book because of another character named as such.

Notes of the investigation of Jelly Babies...
Did you know that each jelly baby has an individual name? The red one is called Brilliant, the yellow, Bubbles, the pink (my favourite) is Baby Bonny, Boofuls is the green one, Bigheart is the purple one and Bumper is the orange one.

They were launched in the UK in 1919 and marketed as Peace babies to mark the end of World War One.
