Ayckbourn and awards

A really interesting subject for me today, Sir Alan Ayckbourn, at home, with his Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theater, presented in New York just last week, and his Laurence Olivier Awards Special Award received in 2009.
I believe he is the only playwright to have been awarded both honours, and I was keen to do a portrait to record this. His archivist Simon Murgatroyd set up the meeting with him.
After shooting some pics, in the scorching sunshine, he and his wife Heather, offered me a very welcome cold beer. Nice!
