Jacobite Queen

Jacobite Queen just leaving its mooring point at Tomnahurich Swing bridge which is just visible on left. The wooded hill is Tomnahurich Cemetery (now full) with many graves some at the very top. It's a glacial feature. The boat takes trippers along the Caledonian Canal through the locks at Dochgarroch, past Telford's weir over which water runs off into the river Ness and so into Loch Dochfour and then into Loch Ness. Many of the trips go to Urquhart Castle about 13 miles down Loch Ness. Last year caught one the boats at Brackla by the Clansman Hotel on Loch Ness banks and had a 2 hour trip to the castle. 1 hour at the castle and half hour journey each way. Really did it because I wanted to get shots of the castle from the water side and this seemed the obvious way to do it. There's not much left of the castle but the hour ashore went pretty quickly whilst looking for picture opportunities.
