A life less ordinary?

Orange lilies

Coming from Northern Ireland, these flowers always had certain associations for me as a child. They are the flower of the 'Orange men' and the Orange Order and are worn in buttonholes on the 12th July. They are also used to adorn the banners and the Lambeg drums on the march to 'the field'.

I left NI 31 years ago, to get away from all that sectarian stuff, and have come to love lilies again whether they are orange, cream or pink!
